Audit Manager - Kenya

The Role
The prospective candidate will be involved in business development building up contacts in the donor funded sector, getting involved in proposals and generally marketing the D&T services to existing and new clients.

The role will encompass all clients with largest sector being the public sector i.e. governmental audits as well as the Not for profit/donor sector work.

The position would involve all the auditing and accounting procedures but you would also be involved in leading the donor department to new and better things. They already do a lot of work in the donor funds sector (please see below a list of the organisations that they have undertaken work for recently).

Business Development with new and existing clients, market D&T services, sell the benefits of using D&T and getting to know local businessmen and projects.
They have a great client list but there is so much other business out there they are not getting.

It is likely that as the role develops the incumbent will become more rationalised working in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania on donor funded audits and projects.
There may also be some travelling throughout Africa to various offices.

Career Progression/Training
They are wanting someone (ideally) who would be Partner material in the medium term.Training is regarded as a very high priority by Deloittes in East Africa and they will be plenty of opportunities to develop specialised skills as well as soft skills and the chance be involved in delivering courses and facilitating.

Remuneration
The successful candidate will be offered a very competitive salary for the local region. The package would also include a housing allowance, here is a full medical scheme in place for Kenya managers, relocation expenses and a car allowance.

They do not see the Working Visa as an issue as they have good relations with immigration. Never yet been an issue and also knows about the problems
their Zambia office have been having.

Requirements for the position
· A good university degree; a postgraduate qualification is an added advantage
· A recognised accounting qualification
· Thorough knowledge of International and National Accounting Principles and Standards
· At least 8 years professional auditing experience, 4 of which must be post qualification, preferably with an international auditing/accountancy firm
· Well-developed computer user skills
